FrankenStout has to be one of the most "interesting" stouts I've ever had. It always surprises and it's never really the same twice.
It is really is a unique experience every time! A vertical would be interesting.
@@WhiteLabsInc OMG Why have I never thought of this?
Its wil be flauwer bomb on wc )😅
I have been brewing a piwo grodziskie by buying Viking and Weyrtmann oak smoked malts for one and a half years now in the Cincinnati area. Interested in trying now this authentic yeast. Thanks for the announcement!
Can't wait to hear about your brew!
What is the reason you fill up the Eldenmeyers up to approx. 1/3 of its capacity and not more ?
So excited to see they donated some to the bank! Had buddies that have wanted to make a Grodziskie but haven't due to really keeping true to style with a more realistic yeast.
Time to Brew?🤔🍻
🔥
I never knew that!
Is White Labs still around? This video was a great one. Fahey is a beast; he takes it to another level but the host kept swing away, valuable info.
We're still here! Check us out on our other socials as well, such as IG @whitelabsyeast!
That’s overkill.
Joe Kurowski is the best!
I prefer WLD alike. Because I can make something alike using red cabbage.
Very interesting, could you do a video on using a yeast propagation tank?
Could you turn the music down a bit? I SAID….COULD… YOU… TURN… THE… MUSIC… oh never mind 🤦🏻♂️
What?!
Voice over still super annoying, I honestly feel like I’m the only person who watches these
Hey I've never seen your videos before but if you're gonna make more, please do not ever fucking use this voice again.
These instructional videos are very helpful and informational. Thank you 😊
What makes Hazy IPAs sweet? Especially juicy IPAs, is sugar or fruit added?? I love them and trying to figure this out, thanks!
Good question! There could be a lot of factors, from a higher finishing gravity sometimes, so more sugar left over, to more hops being added on the cold side leading to more oils and different forms of bitterness vs the traditional way. Or even the impact of the yeast and how it changes our perception of mouthfeel and bitterness. Brewer can also fruit hazies and add other forms of flavoring but depending on when they add it, some of that sugar can be eaten for fermentation.
Bravo! Can't wait to use this product!!
What does any of this mean?
Zinc is an essential nutrient for yeast to do its job of turning sugar into alcohol.
zinc is great for fermentation alongwith magnesium, but 91 percent attenuation leaves nothing in the beer......
Can't wait to test this out on the Homebrew level!!
Is this about making brewskis?
Generations of WHAT? Sometimes when people post on the Internet they forget that these are going out to millions of people, most of whom will have NO IDEA what you are talking about if you fail to elaborate!
If you don't know they're talking about yeast, which is clearly explained in this video, then this post isn't for you
Would love to drink a beer with her
Sweet!
Available for Homebrewers?
Coming Soon!
how are we calculating the 1.15 g /ml cell density ? whats the reason for that number?
It's a rough rough estimate as a 1:1 ratio of volume to weight is for water, plus a 10-15% increase due to cell weight. Another route can be to dilute the weight of yeast to get a weight to pitch instead of using a volume for the serial dilutions!
This voiceover is cringe
Would love a tutorial on using a hemocytometer. Cheers!
Check out our cell counting guide video as well as other short tips on using a hemocytometer and microscope! ruclips.net/p/PLSguDUJe6qrA1jyeKjcZPlXtr8k5Sf-lw&si=VUDZo3VjnIRTVriE
@@WhiteLabsInc thank you!!
😮 I always learnt to do the opposite
Either way works! It's a whole lot easier than guessing if you have to move up or down to focus if the deck is in the middle
Do you need a special slide to count cells and are these available to homebrewers?
Yes, We use a hemocytometer, which helps provides the countable grid. We highly recommend bright-line hemocytometers as they are much easier to see through a microscope. Here's a link for the one we offer. www.whitelabs.com/product-single?id=3&type=PRODUCT_SUPPLIES
@@WhiteLabsInc Thanks
If you make good beer you will get support.
Great video. It help me put things in perspective to see what equipment do we really need to start.
I bought 2 dozen different glasses and now I have no money left for beer 😭😢😤
Great conversation! I couldn’t agree more with the importance of freshness on this style. I recently had a friend visit Germany and brought back a Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen in his luggage. We compared the ones he brought back to the ones we bought at the store down the street and the difference was stark. You could tell the beers were related, but they were completely different. The imported one was worse in every way, probably due to long storage or improper transit methods.
Currently pressure fermenting with this yeast at 20°C and 20 PSI. I'm on day 8 and plenty of sugars left. Is this a slow blend? Is it worth waiting or did it die off?
:00
100% recommended for all brewers, fledgling lab personnel, and small brewery owners. You *need* this information to make beer worth buying.
How the F did the vikings make Mead without this amazing knowledge? Only if they have access to all these amazing nutrients.
Deal! See you in two weeks. 🍻
White Labs is really innovative in bringing new products to the market
Thrilled to see you on the platform. More info is always better and White labs is solid. Music is a big thumbs down.
Who has it available? I can never find it
I cant wait to try it out in a future batch of beer
Great video. Thanks :)
An interesting idea as I didn't really care for the envelope packaging. I loved the Vile for harvested yeast and now a mix of both worlds.
That's great, cannot wait to try it. Cheers
I've been brewing for almost 30 years now. I can remember being impressed with White Labs when they first came on the market and it is very reassuring to see White Labs is still working hard to bring innovations to the brewing community. Those of you who weren't brewing last century really don't know what those dark ages were like. Hey, at least someday you'll be able to tell the youngsters "you that started brewing after PurePitch really don't know how bad it was".
